Chapter 35: Moving in.

Moving in was quick. Eve had a very cooperative disposition. I was going to learn that Eve, born and raised in Wisconsin, hadn't been transformed into a stereotypical Angelena despite having lived there for more than a decade. She had that "sense of freedom to find herself" that the stereotype dictates, but, when it comes to others, she aimed for fewer relationships of higher quality. She wouldn't be hostile, but wouldn't shower someone with vain compliments either. She wouldn't mechanically make friends and influence people. Her unbiased, unhostile honesty seemed a rarity in such a place, and a gift she provided to the closest ones.

She even offered to give me the master bedroom. I could easily refuse that offer, and did so. Then, she wanted to charge me less because of having a lesser room. Sometimes people do nice things to compensate for their faults —I was ready to figure hers out.

Jealousy.

She was fine, though. Great sister.
