Applying the real effort to setting up the system I had devised required extra motivation. The goal of user happiness was fading: as there were the chances of the system used in production anytime soon.
Perhaps there had been a user that I had neglected: ‘agardner’.
Yeah. If meaning was my pursuit, centering my research in that user would be my two birds with one stone: by shifting the goal to find the perfect match for just one user, I could reduce the processing requirements of certain parts of the system —all while having some ulterior goal, and a way to test its effectiveness. That way, by being the sole beneficiary of the system, I could really employ in exclusitivity all the processing power that was prohibitive in a multiuser system. Granted, my servers wouldn't be as fancy as the ones that Dangerous Crush had collocated, but I still had a lot done in their servers, a lot of reusable stuff.
In my home. For me. With all the advantages of all the private data given by its users, all messaging included. Then I knew the whole system had a meaning: to grant me eternal happiness and love.
As for the office, I wasn't the best actress. Couldn't avoid showing some disdain towards the official work that I was supposed to perform. Hank actually amplified that projection. He was a perceptive opportunist. He rarely missed a chance. Sometimes his reaction failed him. Still, he always reacted, somehow.
